It is far away from good quality OCR. Also, the features from TurboScan original app, are missing.

Did not work as advertised, and cumbersome. OCR for printed text could not resolve accurately.
I bought this app mostly to scan documents for teaching English, but is also very useful for scanning photos, business cards or receipts. The OCR is just an added bonus!
Havent used it yet it keeps crashing
I just got this app and had a chance to try it out. I could not believe how well it worked. It delivers what it promises and saved me from driving to send a fax that would cost me upwards of $6. You will not be disappointed if you buy this app!
This is the awesome Turboscan with the addition of OCR. This scanner is the best scanner available in the app store. The negative ratings and remarks come from people who do not know how to use OCR properly or have older phones. The OCR works wonderfully and its amazing on the iPhone 4. Im sure its even better on the 4s. However, it is not magic; you need a clean source for the text, good light, and a steady hand. Use the "Surescan" option. There may be a few errors but it beats typing the whole thing.
Find Text grabber in app store is beauty app!
I had this app for a while and I thought that it did some cool stuff but I never used it until I had to go through some old reports and I had to extract information from them, this app made it much easier to extract whole paragraphs. The only tip that I suggest to use it with wifi on its faster and more accurate
Soo. I have a LOT of scanning apps. a lot. And many of those claim to be "perfect" for OCR. Ive purchased many because I had never found "the one" that works for my needs (I look for fast/ACCURATE ocr and fast reliable (not glitchy like DocScanner) auto edge detection/BAtCH OCR, scan quality. Ease of use) and that is unbelievably hard to find. Just today I decided, no more nonsense, I would sit down with each app I own and find the BEST. And guess what? surprise surprise! This app beat out all the other big names I have!! I was shocked because I had gave up on "perfect OCR" long ago because when it first came out it was abysmal. They SURE have improved the OCR recognition since then !! Important: use triple pic for good OCR results...it makes all the difference. Id say, if your looking into OCR apps ...dont just go by 5 star reviews. People appreciate different things. For example, Ive noted ppl often comment on the portability of their scanner compared to big office scanners. And, while thats a nice feature, its not uncommon. We have smart phones. Lets move on. Whats the BEST scanner app!?? Ive compared my APPS to find the best, most efficient, 2012 HARDCORE OCR scanner....and to date this is it. Not perfect...but pretty close..and 10 times BETTER than all the others I waisted time (and dollars) on. Thanks PerfectOCR. You are now my number one!! Features: 90% ocr accuracy with iPhone 4s in fair light with a large glossy textbook with pictures. Decently quick Batch scanning. Just ok edge detection. (fastest might be "FasterScan"...but no built in OCR with that one. I havent tried uploading to google docs like that one requires. Best edge detection Ive found is "Doc Scan"...same issue of uploading to get OCR though) Easy tap-to-edit Can OCR more than one page (if you only need 1 page OCRed, try "Abby Text Grabber. Its 98% accurate. Amazing really...just limited)
This app makes life so much easier!!
This is a great software, not only for working businessmen, but for college students like me who has to quickly copy class notes from peers or lab partners. People seems to complain that the OCR function (the most important function for this app) does not work accurately. I have found that under a proper condition and PROPER SETTINGS, this app has 99% accurate OCR. These are FOUR simple steps that you can take to ensure an almost perfectly accurate OCR file. First of all, preparing: Go to "setting" (the toothed wheel icon at the main screen of the app), and under the "Attachment file size," select "Larger." Make sure that there are no dust, pen/pencil marks, or eraser dust on the target document. Second, make sure that you are using "SureScan 3x" feature. There is a "technique" that you can take advantage of. Take your first picture as if you are standing slightly left of the paper (as opposed to taking a shot of directly looking down on the paper), so that it looks slightly angled. Take the second picture (of the same document), now from standing slightly from the right side of the paper. Now, you have two pictures of the same document from two different angles. Take the last picture directly above the paper as you would normally do. Third, there needs to be few shadows falling on the paper as possible. If your hand or finger blocks the flash of your iDevice, then the shadow can mess up the OCR procedure. Also, MAKE SURE THAT THE PICTURES ARE IN FOCUS!! Lastly, after you have taken the 3 pictures, the app will try to skip directly to the "Preview" screen. Instead, click "Adjust Frame" at the top left corner and double check that everything is within the proper frame selection. If you follow all these steps, then I can guarantee that your files will be correctly aligned, accurately OCRed, and white balanced to satisfaction.
I was a pioneer user of Caeres Omnipage for Mac maybe 20 years ago. For several hundred dollars it performed seeming miracles. Now I have comparable power, great ease of use, and much better accuracy on my iPhone--all for a pittance. My trial OCR scans were not perfect, but they were astonishingly good; the email feature makes editing and correction a breeze. This will be a major convenience while traveling. Besides, it is a great way to impress my friends, and much cheaper than a Ferrari.
I previously gave this app an undeserving low rating. It was my phone that was acting up. The app is great! Thx

This program does as good scanning as the other scanning apps, has excellent interfaces, and slightly clunky OCR. It is worth its price
Simply the best!
Im getting better than 99% accuracy just taking a single image of text and having the OCR work from that.
Honestly, use it all the time and dont know how I did without it. Occasionally shuts down, which I hope theyll fix, but easy to restart.
So far so good its the best OCR I ever tried nice job
i love this app as this app can extract character from scan documents. but there is 2 ways of extracting character. one taking 3 contineous pictures of same page which is time consuming. taking multiple pictures. there is no auto croping boarder of the pages and need to do manually so time consuming. i would love if this app can scan multiple pages fast and recorniged OCR at once. no need to do page by page to recognized character. if you want to scan a book then this app would takes a day to completer scan. how about OCR for other language. there is only limit language this app support. please add more language. i love european language to be added. about the quality of scan pages is also quite black and white. no smooth. crispy image. how about color scan of the pages. need color pages scan.
